Our hope, prayer and purpose for the Zoweh events offered during the year, are that you meet with God, experience Him in wonderful ways and are never the same because you did. Here is where your life’s story may take its first steps in the journey of living life from the heart. We all have a story to tell, we all live in a story…we all are a story! So much of life seems to be about where you are and who you’re with. When you think back to significant moments in your life or you invite someone to tell a story from their life, you often prompt them with, “Grandpa, tell us about the time you and your platoon..." Life is very much about stories…stories that always tell of relationships and environments, try to tell a story without these crucial elements. The collection of these stories in our lives, has made up much of who we are and what we believe. How do you unpack them? Where do your stories take you? Where is God in all your relationships and experiences? We invite you to get away, unplug, “unpack” the stories of your life in a place that is safe and where you can meet with God. That is what happens over and over in the Bible, regular folks encountering an incredible God and they are never the same. We believe that the context of the larger story we all are living in is a Great Love Story set in the midst of a Great Battle. We invite you to join us for a time and a place where you can find your bearings, better understand who you are, where you are and know with more clarity what the God of the universe is up to in the story of your life and the larger story He is unfolding all around you. Women’s Deepening WeekendWhat if a woman knew the heart of God towards her? Not just in theology, theory, or explanations but really knew it in the experiences of her life in her deep heart? As Women, we wear so many hats, don’t we? We juggle so many things – have so much responsibility. Sometimes it is easy to forget who we really are – and to discover what each of us is uniquely designed for – what our Father has specifically written on each of our hearts. How would you answer if you were asked, What do you most love to do? What are you passionate about? What makes you come alive? This weekend we will take a look at who you are as a woman – you bear the image of your Father God in glorious ways! What might that glory be? What is set against that glory? How do we press into God for our truest selves and live from a heart that is fully awaked and alive? … Alive to our story, our purpose, our glory! Coming June 2012
Rendezvous“Two People Walking with God...Together” That is what marriage is supposed to be...Two people walking with God together. Sounds good on a flier or the cover of a book but it may be the most fiercely opposed union on the planet. Come join us for a weekend that will offer more to your marriage than you can possibly imagine. The hope and design of this weekend is for you to get away together as a couple and to get together with other couples who are walking in the message of Life and Freedom. This is a time for you and your spouse to be more known to one another, encouraged by each other, connected with each other and rest. We choreographed this weekend to provide a your marriage a time of R&R with God and each other. The schedule and agenda for the weekend will have a few main sessions with some presentations but much of the time will be for you to walk together or sit on a balcony or enjoy one of the beautiful living rooms to rendezvous, connect, share and explore together with your closest ally and teammate, your spouse. There will be some great food and a great opportunity to advance friendships with some other couples but mostly this is for you to catch up on each others hearts and stories. The space is often limited to 20 couples so jump in the registration process as early as you can. Registration Opens March 1
It is our hope and desire to provide relationships and environments for our friends and allies to know God and grow in their relationship with Him. At a grass roots level, we aspire to circle up once a week, somewhere around town, and dive into the things that matter most. We offer tools and resources that guide and direct us to the Life that God is offering. Major themes like: Life, Freedom, Healing, Restoration, Warfare, Calling, Holiness, Redemptive Community, and the glory of a person’s lifeare constant explorations of our weekly small group initiatives. Contact us if you are interested in jumping in a foxhole in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area. We have friends and allies who also post their initiatives in Richmond, Roanoke, Salem, the DC area, Greensboro, Charlotte and more. Let us know if we can help you find or start a safe place for others to experience God more deeply and know as well as enjoy His family more as we all move through this life together on our journey Home.
Father Son Pheasant HuntThere is something deep in a man that will not surface if he is confined solely to "man-made" structures. The office, mall or even his own home are all places with walls that in some way, shape, or form contain him. To walk in fields, crest hills, pause at a prairie sunset--these are great field moments that remind us that we are "alive" and a part of something larger than ourselves. Now picture those same moments in the company of people you do life with—your son or daughter, father or brother, or a close friend at your side—a 12 gauge shotgun on your shoulder, beautiful dogs working the ground in front of you. Then it rises with that distinct cackle, the majestic bird of the western plains, the ring-necked pheasant. There are 10-12 million of them in South Dakota! The invitation is to get away and focus on your heart and God's heart toward you. And it is not just for adults; we have found this to be a wonderful Father-Son or Father-Daughter trip as well (youth must be 12 and hunter safety certified). Come join us for a weekend guaranteed to do your heart good. Each year we have been privileged to host an annual retreat/pheasant hunt in South Dakota that has all the above and more. Whether you’re an old hand at hunting or have never pulled the trigger of a shot gun, this is a great trip. Not only do we hunt for pheasant, we are there to experience more of God as well as each other. You don’t have to speak at all or you may find you can’t stop talking. Coming October/November 2012 ZO Sporting Clay ShootLove the outdoors: camping, fishing, shooting and hunting? Like being around folks who also like to be out in God's great outdoors? Want to learn more about outings that are available to you, your friends and families that will provide you with memorable outdoor encounters? Then sign up, bring a friend and come out to one of the Zoweh Outdoors Sporting Clay Events. We'll introduce ourselves to you, feed you some good Carolina barbecue, shoot a round of 50 clays from several stations at one of the top sporting clay facilities in the area and show you a great time.
